The ACLU is a major guardian of liberty, working daily in courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed every citizen by the Constitution and US law. Its State chapters are also very active in fighting for freedom locally. The ACLU has more than 350,000 members.
Democracy Now! is a national, daily, independent, award-winning news program airing on over 450 stations in North America. Pioneering the largest public media collaboration in the U.S., Democracy Now! is broadcast on Pacifica, NPR, community, and college radio stations; on public access, PBS, satellite television (DISH network: Free Speech TV ch. 9415 and Link TV ch. 9410; DIRECTV: Link TV ch. 375); as a "podcast," and on the internet.
The site features information about CCLA’s efforts to protect Canadians’ rights and freedoms. CCLA is a non-profit, non-government, law reform organization dealing with issues of fundamental civil liberties and human rights. Established in 1964, it has more than 6,000 paid, individual supporters.
The oldest and most active civil libertries group in Canada. A group of citizens who volunteer to fulfill the mandate: to preserve, defend, maintain and extend civil liberties and human rights in British Columbia and across Canada.
The CCF is a non-government organisation that advocates and educates for good governance, human rights and multiculturalism in the Republic of Fiji.
The Court is an international court based in Strasbourg, France. Its judges examine complaints (known as “applications”) from individuals or, sometimes, by the member States (that is, countries of the European Union). The Court delivers a judgment, which is binding: the countries concerned are are obliged to comply.
Contains all the documents (concluding
observations, reports) of the UN treaty bodies, special procedures and
comments by governments. It does not contain the jurisprudence of the
treaty bodies, unfortunately. The advantage of the system is that the
University has made annotations of all relevant passages by relevant
criterion (right, type of person affected, etc.) and has developed a
sophisticated search engine so searches become a lot easier.
HRF is an advocacy organization based in New York and Washington. Since 1978 they have worked in the US and throughout the world to create a secure and humane world – advancing justice, human dignity and the respect for the rule of law.

FIDH’s mandate is to contribute to the respect for all the rights defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. FIDH aims to improve the protection of victims, to lessen human rights violations and to bring to justice the perpetrators of abuses.
IJN aims to lead human rights initiatives worldwide by providing direct legal assistance and expertise to victims of abuses and by creating a global network of legal professionals, non-governmental organizations and community-based advocates to protect and promote rights and the rule of law.
The Officer is involved in tolerance, non-discrimination and the rule of law. It is part of OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe), the world's largest regional security organization with 55 participating States from Vancouver to Vladivostok.
Liberty, one of the leading human rights and civil liberties organizations, was founded as the National Council for Civil Liberties. It has campaigned for equal rights in the United Kingdom for more than 70 years, taking cases to the UK courts and the European Court of Human Rights.
Rights and Democracy (International Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Development), is a non-partisan organization with an international mandate. It was created by Canada's Parliament in 1988 to encourage and support the universal values of human rights and the promotion of democratic institutions and practices around the world.
