Can we please have the experienced police we are paying for?

At what point does the Police Minister, and most importantly the Chief Police Officer, conclude that ACT Policing is breaching its contract to provide efficient and effective policing?

Yet again, the courts have found that police actions have been unlawful ("Judge rules evidence inadmissable on sloppy police work", January 30, p5).

As Roderick Campbell’s article noted, this is an all too common occurrence.

If the AFP provided experienced officers, maybe they would know and be capable of observing the law; something we mere citizens must do. Some 40 per cent of our police officers have more than five years’ experience, whereas in NSW it is 64 per cent.

Can the ACT have what it is paying for, officers who are experienced, community wise and street smart?
