Housing is to become a human right in one jurisdiction in Australia, the ACT. The breakthrough initiative will encourage the Albanese government to include housing in its list of federal rights when it officially responds to a parliamentary committee recommendation made on 30 May 2024. The government response is expected in the next six months.
