Greens reject Govt plans for internet filters

The Australian Greens won’t support plans to introduce compulsory internet filters. "We’re very, very concerned there’s going to be a unnecessary clampdown on the internet and it has to be watched," Greens leader Bob Brown told ABC TV . The Govt needs Greens support to pass the legislation if the Coalition opposes it: at 27 Nov 08, the Coalition party room had not decided its position.
