How experienced are the sworn officers of ACT Policing when 60 per cent have had less than five years’ experience? In NSW the figure is a more balanced 36 per cent.
Is the policing contract with the AFP giving the territory what it is paying for, or is the AFP using ACT Policing as a live training ground for its ever increasing numbers?
Maybe, if there were more experienced officers some of the criticisms over the quality of investigations, handling of watch-house detainees, responding to daily events, etc would be different.
The ACT deserves a well-led, street-smart and community-wise police force. Are we getting that?
