Safeguard Aussie data, CLA tells ALRC

Personal data and financial transaction details of Australians should be kept safe in Australia, and neither exported not subjected to laws of other countries, CLA has told the Australian Law Reform Commission’s Privacy inquiry. Using the online transaction firm PayPal as an example, CLA has highlighted extraordinary clauses that purport to apply to Australians doing business online.
