Exactly 25 years ago today, the death occurred of a man who gave his name to an Australian electorate, and who sipped champagne from the bottle with Prime Minister Gough Whitlam. He was Vincent Lingiari, and some remarkable photos recall a memorable day in 1975 when Australian Aborigines began to get rights to their traditional lands.
