Now that the inevitable has occurred to Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, I only hope that their executions are not in vain. Hopefully, all other Australians will look at the signs about drugs in Indonesia and heed them. If this occurs their deaths have not been in vain.
Notwithstanding the huge media hype which surrounded these executions, the Indonesian Government didn’t budge. Australia should continue to try to convince Indonesia to ban the death penalty, albeit behind closed doors.
RIP to all who were executed by firing squad in Indonesia.
