Those three wise monkeys, Messrs Howard, Downer and Ruddock, must have been delighted at the alerting and alarming headline ‘Nuclear plant target for stolen rocket launchers’ (SMH Jan 6-7). Such alarmist tirades provide support for their way over the top anti-terrorist legislation which makes a mockery of the civil liberties they are supposed to protect. The rocket launchers are less than 2 kilos of recyclable plastic which are thrown away after a single firing; the rockets stored in the launchers and the complete weapon would just about take out the average family car.
